Every great journey begins somewhere. Sometimes, it begins in a small town, in a rural classroom, or with a young student who dares to dream a little bigger than the world around them.
For the late RPS Rathore, that journey was one of determination, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
A consecutive school topper and second-ranked student at the Board level, he demonstrated early in life what dedication to education could achieve. But his ambitions extended beyond the classroom. A national swimming champion, he embodied the same discipline, perseverance, and competitive spirit in sport that shaped his academic journey.
His path eventually led him to a distinguished career at Coal India, where he retired as a senior officer. During his tenure, he also represented Coal India in London—a milestone in a journey that began far from the corridors of a global professional stage.
His life stands as a powerful reminder that talent can emerge from anywhere, and that a person's starting point need not determine how far they go.

The RPS Foundation was established in his name to carry forward the values his journey represents. It is built on a simple but powerful belief: a child's circumstances should never limit the scale of their dreams.
Across rural India, countless young students possess the curiosity, ability, and ambition to achieve great things. Yet, access to educational resources, encouragement, and opportunities can often stand between their potential and their possibilities.
We want to help bridge that gap.
Through educational support, essential school supplies, scholarships, and recognition of academic achievement, the RPS Foundation aims to encourage students to keep learning, keep striving, and believe in what they can become.
Our work begins with small but meaningful steps: helping a child walk into school better equipped to learn, and recognising students whose hard work deserves to be celebrated.
